Materials: Recycled polypropylene, waste textile,
upcycled 昀椀shing boat
“Paus” — “Whale” in English — is created from an
upcycled, local Lombok 昀椀shing boat, repaired and fully
covered with PK’s signature ‘tali,’ bringing to life an
abstract interpretation of a whale. The design, inspired
by various global art traditions around the world including
carvings from North American Northwest Coast Art and
block shapes found in West Papua shield art, “Paus” is
a melding of artistic inspiration from opposite ends of the
earth, creatively representing our global community and the
international plastic waste crisis we all face.
