A microscopic view, “Mata Jarum” – or “Eye of
the Sewing Needle” – brings layers of recycled
and upcycled material together to create a new
vision of global art. Made with PK’s signature,
hand-twisted “tali”, “Mata Jarum” nods to the
traditional “women’s work” of local Indonesian
crafts, all while creating an abstract view of arches
or gateways. Passages that, in time, might bring
us toward a new appreciation for feminine energy
and traditional ways of slow living as we attempt
to solve global challenges.
