Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi – repairing broken
pottery by mending the areas of breakage with gold –
“Kintsugi Kuning” uses recycled plastic and waste textile
on upcycled surfboard to bring the same philosophy to life.
With the idea of breakage and repair being part of the history
of an object rather than something to disguise, this piece
leans fully into the idea of circular design to inspire the next
generation.
