“Oli” (“Oil” in English) is a mixed-media piece created
with recycled plastic, waste textile and glue coming
through a jet black sheen. As over 99% of plastics
are created from fossil fuels, “Oli” encourages
viewers to consider the larger impact of plastic as
a direct output of petrochemical extraction. Art
and creativity can lead a new discussion in climate
change; a conversation about “Oil” could be a start.
