Reimagining a common waste item –
pizza boxes – is the basis for the abstract
interpretation of “Berawan” (“Cloudy” in
English). The concept of the piece comes
through in the geometric interpretation
of a cloudy day … plus, a word play. The
“Cloudy” concept is also rooted in the fact
that the recyclability of pizza boxes is quite
“cloudy” – some centers might take them,
but most pizza boxes are not able to be
recycled due to oil residue or the limited
capacity of recycling centers.
